Developing Fundamental Skills For Tennis
We need to fully understand the factors that affect the ability to learn and develop the skills needed for playing tennis. A player's ability will be the result of opportunities, experiences, participation, motivation, influence and support as well as the quality of lessons and coaching.

I am thankful for the fantastic progress our ASRC board has made in 2014 on a number of initiatives designed to strengthen all of our members’ ownership share/value in ASRC. For those who have been to the club in the last couple of weeks, I hope you've noticed the completed pool deck resurfacing.
The pool deck project is proceeding nicely. In just a short time it will be complete! Thanks for your patience.
Throughout the duration of the project Almaden Golf & Country Club will generously allow our members to use their pool facilities. For those of you not familiar with where the AGCC pool is, you can find it at the corner of Hampton and Bose (directly across the street from ASRC courts 4,5,6). We are very thankful to AGCC for allowing us to use their pool while ours is down.
Join us for a family friendly evening at the club. We will be celebrating Oktoberfest with tennis games for the whole family, Oktoberfest food and beverages for adults, pizza and a movie for kids. Check out the flyer below for the full details!

"Taking The Risk"
With all the changes in the game today, one thing has remained constant... the court dimensions. Singles court is still 27' wide and 78' long, the net height is still 36" in the middle and going up to 42" at the net posts or the singles sticks, and the doubles alleys are still 4.5' wide on each side.
Our long time pro Kathy Barnes was recently awarded the 2013 USPTA Women's 55 Singles Player of the Year honors.
In addition to that prestigious award she was also presented the 2013 USPTA 45 Doubles Player of the Year and the International Sportsmanship award.
Fall is quickly settling in and with the changes in the colors of the leaves so to comes change to ASRC.
Dan continues to make great progress on board sponsored initiatives to improve our members' club experience. The resurfacing of the tennis courts is complete as of this writing.
If you've been to the pool recently you've probably noticed our pool deck is in need of repair. Well…there is good reason for that, its 43 years old! Good news, the Board and management have arranged for the pool deck to be transformed from a 1970’s pool deck to a 2013 pool deck.
