FROM THE BOARDby Steve Spring, President

Fall is quickly settling in and with the changes in the colors of the leaves so to comes change to ASRC.

Dan continues to make great progress on board sponsored initiatives to improve our members' club experience. The resurfacing of the tennis courts is complete as of this writing. The sorely needed change to update our pool deck is well under way. We are working with engineering firms to determine what can be done to improve our tennis deck. We will be changing the pool deck furniture as previously mentioned as we enter back into the business outdoor months after the New Year.

Our task force working on the neighborhood outreach has made great progress in bridging the divide between a reasonable club renovation and neighborhood concerns (principally noise and traffic). We expect to have this phase wrapped up in the coming weeks and will then work on getting calendared with the city for council approvals specific to the permits required to do (any) future additive work on our existing facilities.

Our annual members meeting will be held on Sunday November 24th. As is the case every year, any and all members are welcome to attend. Keep an eye on the email updates distributed by Dan for details on time and location.

To reiterate my communication last month, our board is made up of volunteer owners like yourselves who serve for two years. We are committed to maintain and enhance our club in a fiscally prudent manner for generations to come. This is not a simple task and one each board member takes very seriously. We are seeking ASRC owners interested in making a difference to fill a couple of slots on our board beginning in January '14 due to the terming out of several current board members. Please contact me or any other board member if you have interest or questions about what serving on the board involves.

We can only be successful if we hear from you, our members. Please reach out to Dan (dchapman@asrc.org) or myself (slspring67@gmail.com) with any questions, thoughts or constructive feedback.

See you at the club.
