FROM THE BOARDby Steve Spring, President

Was March a blur for you; it certainly was in our household. This month I want to update the club ownership on the board membership status and as mentioned in my March note, the owner approved renovation project status.

With respect to completing our ASRC volunteer board of directors, I am pleased to announce Brett Houston has stepped forward. Brett along with his wife and two children have been club members for a number of years. As a family they use both our pool and tennis facilities. Brett was formally and unanimously approved as a board member at our March meeting. Brett will serve out this current team as board Vice President. Welcome Brett!

As we have shared, the process of seeking and obtaining necessary approvals associated with our planned property renovation from the city of San Jose is a multi step endeavor. On March 25th, we hosted a community meeting at ASRC. This public meeting afforded community residents (specifically those living in close geographic proximity to the club property) a forum to voice any thoughts or concerns they have about the proposed changes. Board members, the city planner, and our design firm present listened to the feedback shared by neighbors. We are now working on digesting the feedback in order to address and respond to the concerns presented.

Starting immediately, a couple of ways we can all be the best "neighbor" to the homeowners who reside on the streets surrounding the club property, and more specifically Northridge Drive, are the following. Please watch your speed, particularly on Northridge. The legal speed limit is 25 miles per hour on these streets. Please utilize the ample parking space in our lots (upper and lower) vs. parking on the street whenever possible.

We can only be successful if we hear from you, our members. Please reach out to Dan (dchapman@asrc.org) or myself (slspring67@gmail.com) with any questions, thoughts or constructive feedback.

See you at the club.
