FROM THE BOARDby Steve Spring, President

February greetings fellow ASRC members; it is pretty clear winter has arrived. Our members have not let early morning and evening sub-freezing temperatures on several days in January stand in their way as a number of ASRC USTA tennis teams are in full swing and our swim programs (youth and masters) continue to stay fit while having a good time as they churn out laps. Be careful on both the courts and pool decks, particularly in the early mornings, as ice has been spotted many mornings during January.

In keeping with the spirit of progress, I hope each of you explores the benefits of our new website (official launch February 1st). This site brings together many disparate club websites into a single portal. From this site you’ll be able to sign up for socials, reserve tennis courts, reserve tennis lessons etc. We also encourage you each to enable your account. For those of you who attended our annual meeting, you’ll recall this new club software pays for itself as it (in time) eliminates paper billing and the postage, periodic collections etc. associated with the dated manual process. This software also prepares the club membership to easily access additional services in the future made available as a result of our upcoming renovation. Rest assured, if you bookmarked particular club websites (for example tennis reservations), those “clicks” will be redirected to the new portal.

We still have one slot remaining to fill the current ASRC board. Please contact either Steve (slspring67@gmail.com) or Dan (dchapman@asrc.org) to explore how you can help make a difference.

We can only be successful if we hear from you, our members. Please reach out to Dan or myself with any questions, thoughts or constructive feedback. Have a Happy Valentine’s Day!

See you at the club.
